Honey as a Pore Cleanser

Honey as a Pore Cleanser

Only a few people know that honey is an ingredient that can be used to cleanse pores. The antioxidants, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties contained in honey helps get rid of blackheads by removing dirt from the skin pores. Honey makes a great cleanser because it is great for sensitive skin. Not to mention its affordability compared to a lot of fancy organic beauty cleansing products.

Some beauty personalities committed themselves to using honey. For them, honey cleansing  involves ditching traditional cleansers. The theory that comes off with this action is to maintain the face clean, eradicating external factors from other products.

FYI, honey doesn’t strip away your natural oils, it is beneficial in fighting acne. It may be sticky, but it works! The best thing about honey is that there are no harsh chemicals, just nature working on its own.

How to use honey as a cleanser:

  1. Splash your face with warm water.
  2. Take a small scoop or about a tablespoon of honey and rub it onto your face in circular motions, avoiding your eye area. A little scrubbing is also preferred.
  3. Rinse with warm water until honey is completely washed out.
  4. Moisturize your face with your usual daily routine.

Honey cleansing is similar to your usual cleansing ways. It is preferred to do this routine in the morning, and repeat the same process at night (unless you wear makeup).

The type of honey you use also makes a huge difference. Pick up those bottles of raw and unfiltered ones as it is minimally processed. Meaning, all the antimicrobial properties haven’t been blasted out.

You’ll be shocked by how your face feels so soft; how your complexion looked so fresh… “Whether you’re looking for an expensive DIY solution or a powerful skin treatment, raw honey can help regain your glow.”  – natural beauty expert Kim Wallace
